Glass sinks come are produced in many different materials. Most imported glass sinks are made from soda-lime glass, which is the least expensive to make. Soda-lime glass sink has the highest expansion ratio of any glass, giving it poor resistance to high and sudden temperature changes. In addition, soda-lime glass has only fair resistance to chemical corrosives. Tempering can improve the temperature and impact resistance of soda-lime if the glass is true tempered.
